More information about the training

1. Objective

This course explains the changes between Automotive SPICE® version 3.1 and version 4.0 and covers the new Automotive SPICE Guideline 2.0. The aim of this training is to equip existing Automotive SPICE® assessors and instructors with sufficient knowledge of the model and the guideline. This training is mandatory for lead assessors and instructors who conduct assessments or assessor training based on Automotive SPICE® version 4.0.

This training covers the main content changes of the ASPICE v4.0 model. They receive a detailed comparison of the adapted areas and learn to apply the content of the fourth generation of Automotive SPICE® in their environment.

At the end, you will receive a certificate of participation, which is necessary for certification as an intacs® Certified Competent Assessor and for carrying out assessments and training according to the fourth generation of Automotive SPICE®.

2. Content

- Rules for assessor certification for Automotive SPICE® 4.0

- Capability level 1 to 5 concept changes

- Significant changes in the process dimension

- Changes to the Automotive SPICE Guideline

- Brief introduction to processes related to hardware engineering and machine learning

The content of this training is based on the curriculum published by intacs®. The training material is the accredited standard training material from intacs®. First, we will provide an overview of the conceptual changes in the process dimension and capability dimension of Automotive SPICE® 4.0. We show what are the main content changes of the ASPICE v4.0 model, including the guidelines, and give a brief introduction to Hardware Engineering SPICE and Machine Learning Engineering SPICE.

We explain the adjusted relationships and internal dependencies.

We present the changes in the fourth-generation automotive SPICE® international assessor certification scheme as well as the assessor levels defined by intacs® and what requirements are necessary to become or continue to be certified as an assessor.

Together, we practice evaluating the adapted content of the fourth generation of Automotive SPICE® and applying the special features and evaluation guidelines to be observed.

This upgrade training is supplemented with practical examples. We provide lots of explanations and allow discussions to enable participants to apply the new knowledge to their own work environment.

3. Target group

This training is aimed at certified assessors and trainers who want to carry out projects or training courses based on the fourth generation of Automotive SPICE®. In addition, the training is for members of process groups and project staff who define or are responsible for processes and must therefore understand and represent the requirements of Automotive SPICE® v4.0. Quality Managers and Project Managers learn a lot about what they need to ensure and consider when complying with fourth-generation Automotive SPICE® processes.

4. Added value after training

The Automotive SPICE® Lead Assessor can carry out measurements according to the fourth generation of Automotive SPICE and the trainers can give training on the fourth generation. The members of process groups and project staff can apply and implement the content changes in practice.

3. Online training login

The trainer will email the online invitations with the access data to the participants at least one week before the start.

4. Training

With practical examples and lots of interaction, we work together to develop the content and understanding and deepen the application. This will make you fit to help you master the implementation in your day-to-day work.

5.  Certificates

After the training, the trainer emails the participation certificate. The company that conducts the exam emails the test results directly to the participants.

6. Follow-up

4-6 weeks later, participants and trainers meet again online and report and discuss the implementation successes.

The exam process

The test is carried out by the VDA-QMC.

You will be registered for the exam even before the training. Late registrations during training are still possible in some cases.

During the training, you will be optimally prepared for the exam: comprehensible theory, illustrative practical examples, in-depth exercises and, last but not least, test exams.

The exam is conducted as an online exam; you need a stable Internet connection and a webcam with microphone to take part. Please ensure that you have the technical infrastructure for the exam well in advance of the examination date. We use two applications, Zoom and Socrative. You will receive an invitation from us to a Zoom session and the login details for Socrative during the exam meeting. The current examination languages are English, German and Japanese.

The exams are carried out as a dual choice. You will be shown short statements, which you should answer correctly with “true” or “false.” You pass the exam with at least 75% correct answers.

The examination consists of around 15 statements per training day, i.e. 60 statements during a 4-day seminar, for example. The duration of the test in minutes is calculated from 1 minute per statement/question plus a flat rate of 15 minutes (for example 75 minutes for a 4-day training session). If you are not a native speaker in at least one of the exam languages and have difficulty understanding the exam language, you will be given 1/3 more exam time upon request (for example, a further 25 minutes and therefore a total of 100 minutes instead of 75 minutes for a 4-day training session).

Participants may not copy or distribute the exam content in any way. This includes taking photos, screenshots, and other electronic or written copies of the exam questions.

The participants must take the exam alone. Chatting and electronic devices are not allowed, except for the computer/laptop required for the exam. Email, messaging, etc. are not allowed. Please refrain from speaking during the exam so as not to disturb other participants.

The tests are carried out as an open book. You may use all written (including digital) training materials and notes.

The company that conducts the exam emails the test results directly to the participants. This usually happens after 2-4 working days.
